TheBEERSgoneBAD started as a place for us to get together drink some beer and learn about what we love. It has turned into a show that both of us have had to restrain ourselves from doing 5 nights a week cause we love it so much. We came into this show with very minimal knowledge about beer and the beer industry, but with every episode we make, we learn a little more about beer and love to share our finding with you. We never wanted this to be a place where someone would feel stupid for not knowing what hops were, thats our job and we are still trying to find out what those are. We are always open for your questions and comments so please feel free to tell us whats on your mind. Again, thank you from both of us for being part of our show as we continually try to find out if TheBEERSgoneBAD.

Pat Tugend

I’ve moved through many different stages of beer enjoyment in my life. My begining stage was at high school parties drinking Natural Ice thinking it was all good. Someone would then show up with Sierra Nevada and we would think he was crazy for drinking  that stuff. Im glad that stage is over. The Next stage was the stage of Bud Light’s, Rolling Rocks and Coors Light. This was a big beer pong, flip cup and 7/11 or double time. Cant really throw back Guinness when your 3 games into an aggressive beer pong game. Then came the Hef stage. This stage was good. In my college, as I’m sure at most colleges, there was a big home brewing and micro brewing community. This trickled over and just about this time a lot of local pubs started carrying more Micro Brews on tap like Hefs, Blue moon, Fat tire, Golden Ale, Fruity ales, darker beers (Old Rasputin!). It was at this point in my life that I realized I loved beer…..and conveniently gained 10 pounds. The point is, this was the start of my Craft Beer fascination. Living in San Diego has allowed me to really push the limits of my beer palate while constantly growing as a beer connoisseur and craft beer advocate. So no matter how many hang overs i’ve had or shitty beer I have drunk…. I am a beer lover and am really excited to have you grow with me during this beer experiment.

Scott Van Vugt

My name is Scott Van Vugt and I was thrown into the drinking world at the young age of fourteen. I was handed a 32 of Tecate on a camping trip in Mexico and told to return the bottle to the cantina when I was done. I got drunk and threw the bottle off a cliff, so began my relationship with beer. A relationship that would lead me to great dancing, bad descions and unforgettable yet easiy forgotton barbecues.

I eventually came to love every aspect of beer, and although i lack the ability to appropriately distinguish each remarkable undertone and characteristic of the beers I drink, I love them none the less. So welcome to all who come with the edgy comments, the feedback and slanderous quips. I am ready to begin my carnal journey with the lovely liquid that is Beer.
